During the time span of one year less than three out of a hundred couples who employed the birth control shot one time every three months were able to get pregnant. That is because the chance of becoming pregnant will increase if you delay more than three months to acquire the shot. The chance of getting pregnant may also be based upon medical conditions, medications, and other factors that might impact the woman’s body.

Like with any method of birth control there are certain side effects that woman should be made careful of. The most general birth control symptoms to consider is a shift during their menstrual cycle, weight gain, tender breasts, and depression. The FDA believes that woman who carry on to take the birth control shot for several years may sustain loss of bone density. This can be recovered after they have terminated using the shot.
