| Children have the ability to study new things all on their own. But many things they will have to learn from their parents. Because of this it is upon us to make sure that we tell them what is important and we do it the proper way. One of the most toughest things to teach a toddler is how to utilize “the potty”. Unlike the myths not all parents are born with the normal knowledge to know precisely what to do with their kids and how to teach them everything they should know. Teaching them how to potty train is one area that numerous of us struggle with. It is no wonder that we turn to each book and other parents to get their advice. Before you can set out to train your child they need to be able to tell you when they have wet or soiled their diaper. Some kids will pass over this process and will start out to tell you when they desire to utilize the potty. You also have to ensure that you can commit at least three months or more where you and your child will work together. Don’t be discouraged if it might take a longer time for them to learn. Several children can not learn till they are 3. To make potty training somewhat easier on your child you will need to permit them to see how they should utilise the toilet. This entails that you will need to show them how it is used. Let them watch you using the potty and possibly even teach them how they can flush the toilet. Before you set about to teach them how to use the potty you need to put a special potty training seat where your toddler plays and allow them to familiarize themselves with it and learn how to sit on it. Let them acknowledge that this is their chair and they can sit on it when they want. Allow For them to sit on it for several days or weeks with their clothes on before you teach them how to sit on it without their pants and diaper. When your child realizes what the potty is for and it is time to teach them how to utilise it. During this time your child needs to be wearing underwear and loose pants that can come off easily and speedily. Having them wear underwear that has a special design will make them more keen to wanting to put it on. When your child points to you that it is time for them to utilize the bathroom or when you observe them stop playing or standing still - this is normally a sign that they are just about to use the bathroom. This is the time to take them to the potty. Set them on the potty training seat and wait patiently for them to finish. Sit next to your child when they are on the potty training seat and speak to them. Encourage them to utilise it and maybe you can read them a book. Make sure that you do not correct them if they don’t use it every time. Rather praise them when they have and if they have not let them know that it is ok. |
