Fat and obesity are big news items right now. And no-one likes to think they are unhealthy or unattractive. So a sure-fire method of getting rid of belly fat and love handles, is a burning question in a lot of people’s minds. But before one suddenly decides that these midriff and waist bulges must go, it is important to understand what they are and how they got there.

In short, belly fat is nothing more than an excessive amount of unburnt energy that is stored in the form of fat. Fat in the midsection is stored deeper inside your body, in and around the liver and other organs. It's called visceral (pronounced viss-er-al) fat. Fat just under the skin is called subcutaneous fat (sub-kyoot-ain-ious). Fat is the number 1 ingredient for unwanted bulges!

How did it get there? Unfortunately, in every instance a person bearing belly fat and love handles will also be carrying excessive fat in many other areas of their body. In other words, love handles will only be one of several visible symptoms of poor exercise and excessive or bad eating habits. Take a look and ask yourself if the� belly fat andlove handles are there because there’s a bit too much fat overall.

In short, if you want to lose belly fat and love handles, you have to know how to get rid of fat. It has long been known physiologically that it is not possible to ‘spot-burn’ fat, i.e. one cannot lose weight from the waist only without losing it in other areas of the body. This is also true in reverse: one can’t lose it from the waist without losing it from (say) the chest! So knowing how to lose belly fat doesn’t just stop at that. Losing it will mean you are going to have to start looking at losing weight in general – which for your long term health and overall physical appearance� may not be a bad idea. So if you are really serious about finding out losing belly fat it would be a great idea to look at some good quality and easy-to-follow weight loss plans. Such as the Acia burn diet, or the Atkins diet.

All diets will help you lose fat the most important thing is that you are comfortable with what ever diet program you choose.

Exercise will help to speed things up for you walking, swimming or even Kettlebell exercises are great. However if you are badly out of condition you should consult doctor first before you start any kind of intense exercise routines.
