| October is named as ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’. Unfortunately hardly any of us remember this. But breast cancer is a very serious and deadly disease that afflicts close to 200,000 women during a just one single year. A few are fortunate enough to be able to overcome it. However, the bulk of these woman do not have the ability to battle it off. The only way that we can really support these women is to express to them we care for them. We have the ability to also donate money to an establishment that works on breast cancer research and a new cure. Every year the Susan G. Komen foundation puts together a 5k, 10k, marathon, and ultra marathon races. Millions of cancer survivors and relatives of cancer patients come together and display their support. There are a few women thatdo not have the power to make it to these races because they are not in the area and have no way of getting to it. Others have the power to go to these races - but still desire to do more. If you have this desire than you should consider setting up a breast cancer fundraiser. You can express your support in your city and bring women of all ages together by having a fundraiser. During this fundraiser you can provide a bit of noteworthy info about what breast cancer is and how it can touch millions of women every year. Attempt to find a woman who is combating breast cancer or who has defeated it to speak to the other women. She can share her fights and tell them how important it is to perform regular screenings with their physicians in order to observe the cancer early. There are dozens of fundraising activities that you can have and of course there must be food and drinks. The best way to raise money is to create unique items that people will need to buy. You can sell pins, hats, and shirts with the symbol of breast cancer awareness on it. Or you can be imaginative and create gloves, scarves, and other items that have the symbol stitched into it. All of the money that is raised can go to breast cancer research. With the aid of friends and family you can have the power to promote awareness of breast cancer to the women in your city. Assist to present to them how serious it is receive regular examinations and to help and support others who are afflicted by this terminal disease. |
