There are several various methods of harnessing solar power. One of the most commonly utilized is thermal energy. Solar thermal power is a unusual type of technology that harnesses the power from the sun and utilises it to heat different things up. It uses temperature collectors that extend from low to medium and finally to high.

The low temperature collectors are built in flat plates and may be used to warm up swimming pools. The medium collectors are also flat and are utilised to bring hot water to commercial businesses and residential homes. The high collectors use mirrors and lenses that can pull in the sunlight and are used for electrical energy. These are slightly contrasting from the general solar energy panels that function to change over the sunlight immediately into electrical energy.

There are five crucial methods that aid to take the heat from the solar thermal system to its destination these include; heat transfer, heat gain, heat transport, heat storage, and heat insulation. In these methods the heat is measured by the total amount of thermal power that the object contains.

The function of heat gain is the quantity of heat that is gathered from the sun and pushed within the thermal system. The heat is then trapped through the use of the common greenhouse effect. This function is accomplished with the help of a reflective surface that sends out short wave radiation and will reflect back the long wave radiation.

Both infrared radiation and heat are developed when the short wave radiation light links with the absorber plate where it is maintained inside of the proper temperature collector. Water contained within the absorber pipes will carry the heat and transmit it to the storage vault.

When this occurs the heat will be transported by conduction. The water will be heated by kinetic energy and is channeled to the water molecules through the collector. The molecules will spread the solar thermal energy and will take up more space than the slower and much colder molecules.
