When a woman is pregnant she is joyful to be expecting her future child. They enjoy every moment that baby kicks or moves an inch. It is likewise an experience that they can share intimately with her partner. The woman usually has nothing to worry about close to this time - but worries begin to come out as the due date draws closer.

In the third trimester the mother needs to choose whether or not she will want to have a natural childbirth or not. Natural childbirth implies that the mother will give birth without the help of any kind of pain killers or medicines. Many women opt for an epidural - which is given to them around the hours before they are to give birth.

Some women favour natural childbirth because they do not wish to take a risk with anything that has the potential to harm the baby. Alternatively they will master against the pain to make sure that their baby is safe and has the best care. But this does not mean that there are not ways of diluting the pain.

Just Breathe

One of the better methods to help you to master through the pain is to learn the correct breathing techniques. During those super painful contractions breathe in quick short breaths that will control your breathing and to shorten the pain. Focus on breathing right and it can help to distract your brain from the pain.

Relaxing Music

Several women find that soft music aids to decompress their bodies and take their brain from the pain. Choose something that you enjoy and maybe something that has words to it. During a contraction you can try to sing the words to the song within your head.

Relax Your Body

One of the better tips I ever got when I was pregnant was to slacken my entire body. The nurse told me that when a contraction affects your body your first instinct is to tense every muscle - which can step-up the pain. Loosen your entire body. The pain will be weakened and you can allow your mind to dwell on other things.

Focus

One of the most important things you can do to distract yourself from the pain is to concentrate on your baby and how you cannot wait to see them. When it is time to push don’t concentrate on the pain of pushing - but instead on how you cannot wait to look at them. This might make you want to push faster and harder. Focusing on this in your mind will get them out in record time.
