Several women when they have been married for years want nothing more then to begin a family. Unfortunately life is not perpetually gracious to us and those plans are broken when the woman or the husband is thought to have health problems that make this natural process hopeless. But with today’s technology and advancements in health care there are newer and better ways to make this occur.

There are a number of fertility treatments that one or both couples are able to use that will increase their chances of having a baby. It is crucial to know that these processes do not always work for particular individuals. One of the most popular treatments is IVF. IVF - also recognized as in vitro fertilization - is a particular operation that is quite easy and causes no pain.

This is usually utilised for women who have inoperative fallopian tubes, men who are infertile, or couples who have tried to use other treatments - but have not been successful. This is one of the best treatments to utilise because it has a better success rate.

During the process the physician will collect eggs from the woman and then sperm from the man. Before they gather the eggs they will prescribe the women specific fertility medication that will help to stimulate the ovaries and to produce large amounts of eggs for them to choose from. Once the egg and sperm are removed they will be put inside of a lab dish where they will fertilize. After a few days has passed the doctor will put the embryo within the woman’s uterus in the hopes of impregnating her.

In order to determine if the operation worked and to see if the woman is pregnant the doctor will perform a pregnancy test. This test will be performed two weeks after the process is finished because it will be more accurate. If the blood test is negative then the couple can choose to utilise a different treatment or to try the IVF treatment once again.
